Sex in Lisbon? Yes, please!

My Sex Talks series welcomes a global audience, including you.

Last week, I was absolutely delighted to deliver my talk, Sex in the USA, to an international audience. Though I’ve spoken extensively throughout the U.S., this was my first Lisbon-based speaking engagement. We chatted about American politics, specifically:

• how the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade,

• implications for the international community, and

• why there’s still hope for all of us (seriously!).

I was a bit nervous because I wasn’t completely sure how much background information to provide (i.e. “Should I explain the different between the House, Senate, Congress, and Supreme Court?), plus I wasn’t sure what the participants views about the U.S. might be. In the end, it turned out really great! I couldn’t have asked for better attendees.

The event was first in my new four-part series, Sex Talks with Twanna A. Hines.

I’m grateful to Second Home Lisbon for graciously hosting this series. The group is a diverse community of 300+ entrepreneurs, inventors, and others creating epic shit. They’ve hosted a wide range of speakers, including president of Portugal. It’s is kind of like a more low-key version of SoHo House — which I also love, I’ve spoken at their New York location.

It was the perfect place to kick off Sex Talks, and I’m ecstatic about the partnership. If you know folks located in the Lisbon area, please feel free to put me in touch with them & encourage them to attend the next three talks in the series.

When’s the next talk in the series?

The next event will be Get Laid: Adult Sex Ed! It takes place this Thursday, July 28, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM WEST. Free event. Drinks served. 🍸 Attend to boost your knowledge to an A+ level — especially if it's been a while since you took a sex ed class, or if you've never taken one at all!

After this week’s talk, the other two talks will be Your Guide to Fantastically Wonderful, Healthy Relationships and Orgasms! Orgasms! Orgasms!

Is there a recording?

Several folks have already asked: “Was it live streamed”, or “Is there a recording?” Not really. To encourage folks to be as open and explicit at they’d like — and to protect attendees’ privacy — there’s no public recording of the group. If you’re interested in learning more about what I presented, I’ll soon make a recording of me only, plus slides, available to paid Tiny, Private Love Letter subscribers. (These are the folks who’ve signed up for membership access to the more private parts portion of this love letter.)

This four-part series is a precursor to online, adult-only sex education classes the FUNKY BROWN CHICK team will launch in September 2022.
