The Tiny, Private Love Letter
Everyone deserves a love letter.
That’s why I deliver one directly to your inbox.
When I was younger, writing literally saved my life. Now, I write to help people build healthy relationships, businesses, communities, and lives that they actually want to live.
In fact, I’ve been writing about relationships since 2005. Back then, I ran one of the most popular dating blogs on the internet. I’m older now and living in Portugal instead of NYC.
You’re getting a much deeper, richer perspective than when I first started.
Why Portugal
Honestly, this isn’t my first rodeo! 🐎 I’ve been living between the U.S. and Europe since the 90s. For this current stint, I really just wanted a safe, stable, more peaceful life. Things are calmer, mais tranquilo, in Southern Europe. The pace is slower. I feel less stressed. It’s the opposite of PTSD.
I really like it here.
I’ve lived & rooted myself—not nomaded—in four countries, and visited dozens more. So, I’ve seen what changes and what stays the same, both in the expat / immigrant experience and in how people tend to navigate relationships. That’s true no matter who they love, or where they live on this big, beautiful planet.

Who This Is For
Curious people who enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of others.
Kind of nerdy people who truly want deeper insights about building relationships and lives that they love.
People who read about others’ lives to live vicariously—whether it’s seeing the world through a Black American woman’s eyes, reading about someone’s expat experience, or just hearing dating stories.
Who This Isn’t For
Haters.
People who tear others down.
Mean people.
What Makes Me Qualified
Quick: Do you ask men this question as often as you ask women? Probably not. That aside, I’ve got much stronger credentials, degrees, publications, and track records than most people who ask me the question (and others in the space). So, I’ll skip that. Instead, let’s talk about my life.
Dating: I’m happily childfree, a proud cat mom, and a serial monogamist. So, I’ve had more dating experience than most. I’m not as bitchy as some dating columnists may be, more experienced than others. Always honest, always positive. Always loving.
Portugal/Expat Life: I genuinely love languages, different people, and learning even more about what changes over time (and what stays the same!) across borders. That’s the real reason I’ve lived in four countries, plus visited dozens others.
